Formation and Description

Formed in 2008, Bleeding Apple is an organized movement of artists working under one banner to collaborate on various forms of video and film projects, including music videos, short and full-length film, documentaries, animation and video art.

The artists working within the Bleeding Apple collective continue to maintain their autonomy as artists and often produce works outside of the collective. The mission of Bleeding Apple is to promote a tradition of successful Canadian independent films, particular films made in the region of Guelph, Ontario. Bleeding Apple members continually prove to be pioneers in this movement, and are important players in the construction of the new Canadian film movement.
Founding members include Philip Carrer, Grayden Laing, Angus McLellan and David McLeod, all of whom are established video and film artists who have won awards for their work and have had works broadcast and distributed.
The collective is also consistently affiliated with Guerilla Force Films, Chronograph, MKD Cinema, Septagon Studios, Black Fawn Films, Suburban Noize Records, and Ed Video Media Arts Centre.
